We’ve Been Simpsonized!!

(RaisingX.com) So I was feeling a little goofy today and have been hearing a lot about this simpsonizeme site. It’s a fun little thing to do (i.e. to waste time); just upload a photo of yourself, enter in a few details, and beep boop boop beep out pops you in Simpson form.

Here is our family simpsonized:

The Simpsons is considered a classic by Adam, my siblings, and I. It was a daily favorite and one of the few shows I remember loving as a kid. I know what you’re thinking…it hasn’t been on for that long! Well actually, when it aired in 1989 I was only 7 years old. We didn’t have cable and for several years my parents tried to restrict television to one show per day (not for moral or social reasons but because we weren’t doing our homework!) and The Simpsons was my show of choice.

Being a parent, I wonder if The Simpsons is something I would ever let my 10 year old watch. Wrought with gambling, cheating, drinking, stealing, and many many other adult themes (did you see the one set in a brothel…I think it was a musical…*chuckles*) I hardly think it is appropriate for children. Although there always seems to be real life dilemmas and morals, do I really see myself letting my daughter watch it in such raw packaging? It’s hard for me to say how I will feel about what she is watching 8 years from now, so maybe you could give your insight. Leave a comment and let us know what you think!
